Definitions

The following definitions apply to the terms and conditions set out below that govern the contract of services between you and us.

By entering the Builders worksite and engaging in work you agree to adhere to this policy.

Policy

The Builder is required under Australian Work Health and Safety legislation to provide a workplace that is safe and without risk to employees. Smoking in the workplace has been shown to be harmful to an employee's health. All sites of the Builders are smoke free workplaces.

Australian tobacco control legislation bans smoking in all enclosed workplaces.

Procedures

• Smoking is prohibited in all work areas, offices, toilets, washrooms, lunchrooms and store- rooms.
• Employees may only smoke outside on their designated work breaks.
• Whilst on the premises employees that smoke are required to do so at the designated smoking areas and to use the disposal facilities provided.
• Employees are asked to co-operate in maintaining a healthy work environment.
• Employees who choose to cease smoking all together and require assistance can contact the Builder who can provide them with literature.
• Failure to follow this policy may result in disciplinary action.
